Training: Tynemouth Lifeboat Slipway

This weekend is aimed at individuals who wish to learn new or improve skills in archaeological surveying. The weekend will encompass the theory and method behind recording archaeological features in the intertidal zone.

On Saturday meet at the Old Low Light Centre in North Sheilds at 4.45 pm, there is pay and display parking at Low Light carpark which is only a short walk away. The introduction talk will be done before 7pm. On Sunday meet at 11.15am at Tynemouth Sailing Club and will conclude at 3pm. Please bring lunch and be aware that there will be a short app demo at some point during the day.

It is advised that participants wear appropriate footwear and clothing, suitable for all weathers (rain and sun). They are also advised to bring a pack lunch, those there are cafes nearby. There is public car parking facilities close to site but it is pay and display. Please be aware that the site is about 10 minutes walk from the car park down a moderately steep slope.
