Training: Formby Lifeboat Station Recording

St Luke's Church, Formby

 

Join CITiZAN North and Big Heritage to gain some basic skills in recording of archaeological features on the coastline.

 

The day will be split between a classroom session to understand the processes and methods of drawing, levelling, photography and written records of archaeological features. The second half of the day will be spent on the site where these skills will be put into practice. Please be aware that there will be a short walk of about 0.5 miles between the classroom and site, the sand dunes can also be uneven under foot.

Meet at St Luke’s Church at Formby at 9.45 am for registration, ready to start at 10.00 am. There will be a break for lunch, volunteers are asked to provide their own lunch. Public conveniences and hand washing facilities will be available at St Luke’s. Please be prepared for all weather conditions (including adverse weather), wellies or stout footwear is required. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
