Training: Howick Bathing Pool

This weekend is aimed at individuals who wish to learn new or improve skills in archaeological surveying. The weekend will encompass the theory and method behind recording archaeological features in the intertidal zone.

The training is two days and is free, but places must be booked.

We will be meeting at Seahouse Farm car park at 9.30am for a guided walk of the foreshore. After this we will head to Howick Village Hall for tea and coffee and to commence with the classroom part of the course including health adn safety and theroy and methods.  The enxt day we will meet on site at 10am to commence with the fieldwork.

It is advised that participants wear appropriate footwear and clothing, suitable for all weathers (rain and sun). They are also advised to bring a pack lunch, there is nowhere to buy food. There is public car parking facilities close to site. Please be aware that the site is about half an hour walk from the car park by footpath.
