Description

A watchman's hut situated at the entrance to Canning Half-Tide Dock on Canning Island. It was built in 1844 by Jesse Hartley using his technique of random granite (part ashlar, part dressed rubble) with battered walls. The hut is octagonal in plan and has a roof of solid tooled granite.
